    pressing on freezer paper

Hi, First time using freezer paper. I have made 3 small houses, and already the pattern piece for small house 1 is not very sticky. T-he last time removing the pattern from the fabric, some of the pattern actually separated - with some still on the fabric. Am I using too much heat, pressing too long? and do I now begin using glue stick to hold the pattern to the fabric? Suggestions? Would it be better to use a small appliqué iron versus a household iron? TIA

Hi Carmeng, I have found using my small cover iron very useful, easier to manage, if you have one.

I’ve had this problem too. Is there a certain freezer paper that is better than another? Has it something to do with the iro. Heat?would love to know!

The problem may be the temperature. If the temperature is to high the wax will melt into the fabric. Try a medium temperature instead of a high temperature. You only need your iron on the freezer paper for a few seconds.

Okay to use the glue stick at any time. A little dab will do you.

I started today and only got 2 made and the freezer paper was not sticky enough to make a third. I am using the paper from the Quilt Show shop. It is very thin not like grocery store freezer paper. I remember Barbara saying-she used 46 sheets and she was using her sheets over and over. I am going to try a smaller craft iron. Anyone have a brand they see working longer?

I began to use my Glue stick instead of ironing zhe freezer paper on. This is much easie for me because I can fingerpress the seams and don't need to run to the ironing board
