I’m confused about the background. Our
History 101 looks way to busy for a background. Can someone share their thoughts and ideas for a background?

Hi, I just bought the History 101 canvas at my local quilt shop. It is a light weight canvas, so I don't think it will be a problem. I think with all of the solids used to make the houses, that the busy background will be perfect! I am excited to get the BOM started! I did see Van Gogh's Starry Night Sky fabric if you are looking for options. I found that on Hancock's of Padducha's site. That was going to be my 2nd choice. Hope you find what you like!

The Art History 101 in the Kit is not canvas, rather fine quilting cotton. Glad you are happy with the canvas, I have not seen or felt it.

Hi Mary. Have you seen Barbara's youtube video where she discusses different choices for background fabric https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sctQphcyGPg Starts at timestamp 9:00. There are also a few photos of peoples different choices for background fabric in the thread topic called Fabric.

I personally will be using a white batik that has random aqua dots on it for the background.

Its your quilt, make it your way.

I love quilt a longs where I get to see how everybody's different choices make a different quilt.
