Wow!! Striking! Your black border really showcases the fabrics in the appliqué and other blocks.

Hello, could someone suggest what batting to use? The quilt top is already heavy and I'm not sure what to use as a batting. Thank you!

Lynnanne, I am so happy for you to have the top done. Whoo Hoo!!! I have not taken mine out of its bin, since I started playing around with Color My World with Flannel.
I use Warm and Natural batting. It is 100 percent cotton and flat. I like that since my Husquvarna machine does not have much room for stuffing the whole quilt thru. That
is also why I also plan to do quilt in sections. Would love to see a picture of your top. HelenW

Lynnanne, I used wool, it’s so light and comfy.

Ok thank you both! I'm going to try to split the batting to quilt it. The colors are really bright but I had to make do with what I had. It was really fun to make and a great learning experience.

I finished my quilt top in February and now need to decide on how to do the quilting. I had so much fun making this quilt, my first TQS BOM, but definitely not the last. Barbara, your instructions were fantastic and I don't know if I would have attempted this without them.

I finished this about a month ago, but I just got the photo taken this morning. I quilted it on my Bernina 750QE. I had so much fun doing this!

Glad it's finally finished. I used a straight set, adding more shoo-fly and round applique blocks to complete the pattern. Extended the 9-patches into the border to complete the grid. I really like the diagonal grid formed by the double 9-patch blocks.

Finally finished. I added Sue Garmon's border from Ruffled Roses . It is the biggest quilt I've ever made. Thank you all for the support.
