Corner Blocks
Barbara, I'm still having problems. My 1" square is right on 1". However, the long side of the corner block on page 5 measures 10 5/8" on the dotted line and 10 1/8" on the solid line. I'm not sure how to correct it seeing that the 1" square is correct. I can redraw it to make the solid line 10" and the dotted line 10 1/2", but my concern is will the curve be correct?

I have just finished BOM6 and have decided to cut out the corner blocks from my already pre-cut fabrics. I have cut all 10 1/2" x 13". However, my template measures just a fraction over 10 5/8". I have measured the 1" square to make sure I have printed out the correct size.
I'm guessing my only solution is to have 1/8" seams when joining the blocks together?
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Irene, if the 1" block was perfect on both pages you printed for the corner blocks, my guess is the issue is with the amount of overlap you used when you taped the pages together. Be sure the 90 degree "legs" of the corner block template measure exactly 10.5" long, on both sides. This will insure the circle opening is the correct size. The outer width can be wider--I cut my rectangles 11" x 13" to have a little extra for trimming on the outside edges once the block was complete. But the circle has to be accurate for the pieced star to fit inside the corner block opening.
I hope this helps.

Irene, there are two pages to make the Block Corner template. I just printed them out again. You should be able to align the two parts so the "leg" measures 10.5" unfinished, from outside edge to outside edge. My 1" is correct on both pages and when I align the small part with the long part, I get 10.5" on both legs.
Are you saying the "leg" on page 1 of the Block Corner Template is longer than 10.5" unfinished? If so, I don't know what to tell you if the 1" square is exactly 1". Mine is perfect and so it is only in taping the short piece on page 2 to the right side of page 1 that would be a potential problem if I didn't tape it in position correctly.

Yes, the leg on page one is 10 5/8" long. My 1" square is exactly 1". I'm also at a loss. It must be a problem with my printer, but I don't know what. I'm just going to make sure the length is 10 1/2" and hope for the best when inserting the paper-pieced centers. Thank you for getting back to me. Irene

Irenefrie, I just read your post. If it were me, and I was faced with your dilemma I would take a piece of muslin or scrap fabric and cut out the 4 corner pieces using the pattern
and just trim it to the 10 1/2 unfinished. Then I would cut a circle by laying your pieced circle on the muslim and cut one, so it would be identical to your pieced one. Then I would
just follow the direction on inserting the circle. If it is not going to work you can find that out without sacrificing your beautiful circles and good background fabric. Since there are
9 blocks if you just go for it and it does not lay flat like it should, you will never be happy with it. HelenWHelenW
