How much fusible?

What's the total amount of fusible that will be needed for the project?

#2
Hmmm...that's a good question! And, I'm not sure! :? I tend to buy lots of it, because I use it a lot, so I didn't even think to keep track. If I were to guess, and don't hold me to this if you run out, I would say about 24 of the 9 x 12 sheets. The Steam a Seam can be spliced together easily, so you can make use of all your scraps.

Thanks, Janet. I also heard from Lilo Bowman (via e-mail) and here's what she told me:
Steam A Seam 2 Lite
For one quilt, you need
12-3/4 yards of the 12" width. Or
8-1/2 yards of the 18" width. Or
6-1/2 yards of the 24" width.[/list:u]

Janet Stone uses stabilizer under all her appliqué as well. She recommends Ricky Tims Stable Stuff, which he sells in 28" x 3-yard rolls. They can probably get away with 2 rolls if they save their scraps and use them.[/list:u]
I'm thinking I'll use Misty Fuse for the fusible and try out Terial Magic in place of regular stabilizers. Anyone else have feedback on those products? :?:

Hi sfavro, I can't comment on Misty Fuse or Terial Magic as I haven't used either of those products. I would recommend Ricky Tims Stable stuff for you to use as stabiliser, which I use for all my machine applique. I use the packs of 50 sheets 8 1/2" x 11" as this seems to be the only size I can buy is the UK, it is however a size that is very economical and easy to work with.
