    Craft University classes

Hi, I wonder if anyone has taken a Craft University online course. Bonnie Hunter has a couple of them on offer, but they are much more expensive than Craftsy classes, of which I have many . I can't find much feedback on the course or on Craft U. It looks like there are some classes with weekly assignments, it's hard to tell which ones. Some say on demand and others don't. It looks like for the Bonnie Hunter classes, access expires in one year, although it's possible to download the videos and PDF files. It looks interesting, but I'm not really sure if there is more material than a craftsy class would offer. Any feedback is appreciated! Kathy

    Hi Kathy!
I too have looked at Bonnie's class description on that site, but the difference in pricing is what stopped me in my tracks. I have a lot of classes from Craftsy, plus a few from iQuilt and Creative Bug. Bonnie does amazing work with scraps, her results are just amazing, and I would love to take a class (or more) from her.

Hopefully, someone will be able to respond with their viewpoint on the difference between Craftsy classes and Craft U classes. As long as I can justify to myself why I'm spending more money for what appears to be the same type of class, I would take the plunge.

Thank you Kathy for starting this thread!

So I looked at Craft U, that Bonnie Hunter course for $129! A little too pricey for me! It does allow you to down load the 1st lesson for free, that can give you a chance to see if this is something you really want. But, none the less, very pricey.

I'll go back at the craft u class description and see if I can find the part about downloading one lesson! If you go to Bonnie Hunter's website, she has a code to get $30 off the class, which makes it $99, still pretty expensive. Thanks for the response, at least this might give me an idea how long the classes are. Kathy

I went to the Craft U website, and once you put in your e mail address, you get the first section of the class to look at. It ran 35 minutes, and there are 6 sections in all. So it's a bit longer than a craftsy class. The segment was very good; but not anything new for me. It covered cutting apart a shirt to recycle, cutting strips and hst's, and some sewing. Once I looked at the preview it offered me 10% off if I paid for the full class right then. If you go to Bonnie's website quiltville, you can get $30 off though. It seems pretty expensive so I am not going to do the class. Kathy

Here is another site to take classes. Many of the teachers were are quiltuniversity.com before that closed. The price depends on the number of lessons.

I went over and looked, will remember to keep an eye on the site. I was primarily interested in taking Bonnie Hunter's scrap class, and she's only teaching on line at Craft U. Kathy
