This Amazing Site
I am a charter member of this site. I know the website change has been a bit of a struggle for all of us, but it remains one of the best sites on quilting available. I have to say, TQS has been my main source of learning to perfect my quilting and a great source of friendships ever since it began. Whenever I have had a problem, I have been able to post it here in the forum and had it answered and usually within a short space of time. I have watched every show and many of them multiple times. The things I learned in the shows have frequently gone into the making of my quilts (some of which are award-winning in national shows). I have sometimes met several of my friends I made here on the forum in person, and hope to continue to do so in the future.
Here's and example. Recently, I just rewatched show 702 because I needed to remember how to best approach printing on fabric. I want to print on silk/cotton Radiance and I set it up like he suggested and it worked beautifully. I was able to share my results of my test on the Radiance and how it did well even when I rinsed it here. Sharing has been as important to me as learning. I am an experimental art quilter and I love to share things I learn along the way. This provides me with all important feedback and may help someone else at the same time.
I have seen some members hinting that they are so frustrated with the new website they are ready to leave. While I have not found it frustrating, I do encourage everyone who is frustrated to stay and try to learn the new site or make suggestions for improvement and give them time to get the things done. This site provides so much it was simply inevitable that some of the things would need tweaking or downright reworking after launching. These things take time and sometimes a lot of time.
Sew thank you all on TQS for what you provide here. It's absolutely amazing! May the site last long and continue to provide the high caliber of learning, fun, friendship, and assistance that I have found here since it first started.

BJ, I couldn't have said it any better. Even though I'm not here as often as in the past, it feels like coming home when I do click into the site.
The only thing I miss-everybodys' blogs. I hope that they can be restored. Other than that, it hasn't been a huge learning curve to find everything. It just takes some patience and the willingness to push a few buttons. Thanks to the TQS team for just being here for all of us.

Yes, thank you BJ. It's me that you found 'hinting' that I would leave.
I have to admit I have been very frustrated with the technical side of the new site, and in some ways, I still am. Its arrival was at a difficult time with LIFE happening, (Granddaughter , 2-1/2 in hospital, so scary). plus, I don't do 'techie' very well. So, I vented on here, but I think this is allowed because there is a bond among the Lizards, right? (Please?). You have all been so faithful in support, please forgive my rant. It was not personal to anyone. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone, and I do love TQS, especially the friends I've made. As long as I can keep in touch, I don't have to worry about the technical side until things are ironed out. I can wait. I agree that I love the friendships. I hope I can follow along with the BOM, as I really like the pattern and I haven't done one for a few years.
However, not sure I will make the NYE party. But may peek in. As long as nobody is still mad with me...

hmy: :side: :silly: :cheer:  Terrie...I think there was really more than one person venting in that direction. No one is mad, or even unhappy with you or anyone that is frustrated enough to think of leaving. It was just that I have seen a lot of expression of frustration and I wanted as much to let the folks in charge of this know how much they are appreciated, and the folks frustrated know that it is, in all likelihood, going to be ok given enough time. And it's worth the wait.
I so hope things are much better for you and yours Terrie. BTW, I know I owe you a mug rug, and plan on taking care of that soon.
Hugs
BJ
