Do you have information on scissors and needles on airlines? How did you carry yours?

Well it depends on whether or not you are leaving the United States. If you are staying in this country then you can follow the current TSA rules. Go to their web page to find out. If you are going to another country, then you have to check the individual country's' rules. In my case, to Australia, the rules are more strict. My scissors can only have a blade of 2 1/2 inches and have a blunt tip. Sewing needles or straight pins are ok for either country.

I always take my knitting...but I do have a problem with the yarn falling on the floor! I haven't had a problem with knitting needles.

How about a draw string bag large enough to take the project, that when you open it has the top part of an apron (about 6" deep plus the waist strings) sewn into one side of the top edge that you can then tie around your waist, and you keep the ball of yarn in the bag.

Are you going to patent the pattern and design, Rosemary?!

I doubt it, since I was given the pattern to make whilst a student at the RSN. I wonder where my original has got to - it is probably in a safe place

I'll send my younger son over. Whenever I put something 'in a safe place' he seems to be the only one who, without fail, finds it immediately.

mbake02, what about doing some applique? You can always take one block at a time with you on a flight or train or whatever - not so good if you are driving, If you like floral applique then I recommend Deborah Kemball's book 'Beautiful Botanicals'. I have done several of her projects from that book and they are beautiful. I was able to take them away with me in a small zip-lock bag and work away whenever I got a free moment. Just a suggestion.

Rosemary: It sounds good. It might even have time to make it before my next plane ride (Nov 3)...However, my daughter will deliver her 4th boy by C-section on Sep 30 and guess who watches the other 3 and drives for her? I will be happy to get out of town on time!
