There are pre-cut color packs that graduate in colors of the rainbow. There are hand-dies that graduate in color
    (Laura Wasilowski )
Hold on to your pocketbook when shopping hand-dyes  There are fabrics called ombres that graduate, commercial, so less expensive that hand-dyes.

There are Classroom lessons in color by Laura Nownes here on TQS

Show 709 may have some hints on choosing fabrics as well.

learn/classrooms/ is about the way Jinny Beyer chooses colors.

We all have our individual preferences. I'd just say, remember value so that your piecing stands out against the background.

Line your colors out on your table. If one screams "out of place", don't use it. If you put something in your quilt that you don't like, you can always use that seam ripper to do it over.

    Hope this helps a bit!

Does anyone know of US dealer for the foundation paper? I don't want to buy a pattern, though they are fantastic.

Is it possible to make this quilt without a pattern? I don't see anywhere you can print out the pieces on your own foundation paper. I was going to order the pattern until I saw the price for shipping.

Sherry, I had decided not to order it too because of that fee, but later the first day it went on sale the shipping was corrected to $3.00. It didn't take me long to click on the "order" button!

I think you need to buy the pattern. I don't think we can print it out. It is more than I usually pay for a pattern also but I am intrigued with her technique . I hope to learn from the pattern an adapt it to other patterns. When people start on this project I hope we can keep a thread going and compare notes.
I have a fairly large stash and am trying to select fabric from that. I am still having problems picking the colors. I am hoping when I get the pattern it will help. I would love to here more about others fabric selection. I like bright, but her focus fabric is a little to busy for me.
Let's stay in touch, it should fun.

The pattern is more expensive because it includes the foundation paper.

I noticed that the fabric she used was Hoffman. Does anyone know what collection it is? Also, it looks like a jelly roll would suffice for most of the gradation piecing. Does anyone know where you could buy something like that?....thanks

I'm doing my own colorway for daughter and hubby. Chocolates, cremes, blues. I'll be shopping for quarters and using stash. Yes, usually don't buy 'ingredients' for products, as budget is tight, but made an exception for this as I love her work so much! Plus my stash of quarters and half yards is my challenge to work with. I enjoy that much more than buying a pre-cut kit ready and all coordinated. Just my craziness. Glad I didn't see with that shipping charge or I might have said byby. ha

I looked this morning and my order has shipped. Looking forward to it getting here. I ordered the small package of colored strips from her site. I was getting overwhelmed trying to do it from my stash. I thought maybe it was worth it to get me started. It is well worth it to go to her site. wwwbecolourful.com
