However, I was thinking about what I would personally enjoy doing as an exchange and while trawling the net today I came across a free pattern from McCalls called 'The House That Kaffe Built'. It is a quilt of miniature paper-pieced houses. I think the pattern calls for 30 houses but it is a mini quilt so one could increase the number easily. Wouldn't it be fun to have a quilt full of all our TQS friends houses? It's just a suggestion

It would be fun to exchange house blocks!
Another suggestion, what about "wonky" houses? Here is a sample I found on the internet. Any bright or Kaffe fabrics would be great in this:

I like that, but I'm not so keen on miniatures, like some quilters here. I'd certainly think seriously about this as a swap.

Well, Wendy...there have been very few times he and I didn't enter something in the local fair
in the last 30 yrs and most of the last 15 yrs in the other fair. Not so much variety, tho, as it is 60 miles
round trip and you have to enter things on different days ! As it is, it's 3 trips...deliver, view and pick up.
The cash didn't pay for the gas !! I fully intend to make a quilt from the ribbons...they're safe in their own
                      stash box !
And Sue...Yes ! I cook ! Shown there were basil, oregano, parsley and dill...and I have others! We grow our own garlic and onions,
cukes, tomatoes, green beans, zuchinni, carrots and odd stuff like compact melons, eggplant, beets and kolrabi..DH's fav !
and leeks this year...tho they may not have enough time to get very large. Because we have a small area...no corn
or potatos. But I have a good patch of raspberrys and blackberries ! I try not to grow more than we use and can put by...
can, freeze or dry....and share with folks. too. You get here...I'll cook dinner ! Mind you, I'm a farm cook ! no fussy stuff.

Marilyn, farm cooking is the best kind of cooking. It is what I still do when I have to cook. I just don't enjoy cooking like I used to. I would rather eat a bowl of oatmeal or a peanut butter sandwich. Luckily, DH isn't too picky either.

Marilyn, I agree with Cathy. It's hard to beat country cooking. Congratulations on all the wonderful entries and winnings.

When ingredients are that fresh, farmhouse cooking is all they need. Hearty and wholesome.
