 well a friend was making a KFC quilt which spurred me into loving the pastelly fabrics and drooling over a layer cake she had so I'll let her know. I've made a red and green one in the past for another nieces dog so I'll find a picture of that for you. To be honest it's the paler ones that make me weak at the knees

Wendy your KFC quilt is beautiful! I really love how you have used the fabrics. I had a collection of his in reds some years ago and made a quilt for my daughter with them but have never had any of his since. The thing I don't understand is how they are more expensive to buy in the UK than in America? I am finding my fabric collection so dull these days - lots of in-betweeny colours but very few really striking ones. Maybe it's time to invest in some KFC.

I think it's about how you use your fabric colous to make them striking and the Kaffe ones have done it for you by using contrasting colours in one print such as reds and green , purple and orange, mint and pink etc.,

I've got this fabric to make into a garden cushion yum.

The fabrics are imported from America so that must be part of it.

Must be - although the 'Collective' seems to be based in the UK. I wonder why the fabrics are not manufactured there? Wouldn't it be nice if we could get some fabrics cheap on this side of the world? Love the foxglove fabric and I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Do you remember Kaffe's needlepoint patterns? There was a cabbage needlepoint rug which I would have loved to make but it would have taken so long to make. Really beautiful.

I don't understand the pricing of the fabric either. I don't think it is woven in the USA. Very little fabric is made here. I think it is usually woven overseas somewhere. Yes, it would be nice if things were made more local, and not so much imported. I would hate to have to take the livelyhood away from a developing country though. Pros and Cons every way.

I have been collecting and using Kaffe Fasset's fabric ever since he started. I sew garments for myself and quite a few are with his bright and larger prints. I quilt and decorate with them too. I am fortunate to have taken knitting workshops with him and his partner Brandon Malby. His autobiography is a good read also.

                              cheers

A friend has just lent me 'A life in Colour', fascinating read. It's interesting reading his transition across from painting to textiles. I could never understand how he learnt the skills of patchwork so quickly but now it becomes clear.
Jeanine the top in your avatar looks Kaffe inspired, is it one of your makes? I've seen Brandon's prints used for children's clothes they are such fun and I fancy a pair of pants made in fish
