just from this short look - i'm already hooke and looking for some spare time to start (HST & STRIPPERs quilts come first)
i would love to see some that TQS brothers or sisters have made
happy days to you and allLotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland

Here are a few that I have made - most got distributed to TQS members at the Festival of Quilts, but I like to keep a record of what I have made.
They are 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" in size.
top line - water colour pencil drawing, Shadow work on lawn, Shadowwork on organza.
middle line - Shadowwork on lawn, Manipulated photo printed on fabric, patchwork.
bottom line - patchwork panel scanned, reduced & printed on fabric with patchwork, patchwork.
None of them are quilted, but all the fabric ones are sewn onto the cards, the shadow work ones by hand but the rest by machine.
The really great thing about these is that it is a great excuse to dive into your bag of off-cuts and see what you have that goes together and because it it put onto a card backing (you could use pelmet stiffing) and won't take any wear you can get away with 1/8" seams to just get the scraps to fit. Or to use up spare leftovers or try outs. Ribbon makes a nice edging & is simpler and less bulky than bindings But basically anthing goes!
The reverse is just your details that you would put on a business card and can be printed or written.
They are also a bit like chocolate - making one is never quite enough :wink:Lotti, Kuessnacht - Switzerland

I actually entered one in the fair, and won a blue ribbon with it! I wasn't sure they even knew what one was, so I wrote a little bit about them on the back side. Below is a picture of one that is very similar to the one that I entered.
And, this is one of the first set that I ever made. Beware! They are fun and addictive!

I love looking at the examples. Thanks so, so much. Rosemary, yours are just gorgeous. Dawn,I love the gold leaves and the Happy Birthday is so much fun. Looking at the reverse side of yours was helpful too. Wouldn't these be a wonderful excuse to try out all the fancy stitches that get used far too little on our machines. Lois

One of the reason I like the ATCs is that you can try out sometime new without putting a lot of expense into it. I sometimes print my information on fabric, cut it out and fuse it on before I do the edging on the cards. Sometimes I print the info on card stock and fuse it on. I do any quilting before I trim and put the back on.
