How do you use Joan Wolfrom's 3 in 1 Color Tool?

How do you use the nos. in the color tool? Is there a video on how to use this tool effectively?

I know there is an episode of TQS that has Joen showing how to use the color tool but I need more instructions so I would be interested in knowing if any other instructions are on the web as well.

I agree, I get confused on how to use this tool. Maybe we could get TQS to do another "classroom" on color wheel usage.

For a really cool site with palette generators try this...warning, it's addicting!

I think the 3 in 1 is supposed to work kind of the same, just not high tech. It's great to carry for fabric shopping.

Joen published a book in 2000 called Color Play. It was published by C&T. Lots of good information in this book. Betty Ann

Hi, I have one of those, can't find it now in my sewing room! But, the numbers don't really mean anything, I think they go from 1 to 24. They are just to help you identify which color you were looking at.

If you want to identify the complementary color to your color, you can add 12 to its number to find the complement. However, that's not necessary since the tool also lists the complements, triadic colors and other color harmonies for each color on the card for that color.

The colors make a color wheel with 24 steps. You can fan the cards out to make a circle and see the steps.

No magic really, just a convenient way to keep track of the colors.
