Blocks on point for over size king quilt

I need help in using the 6 inch blocks to make an oversize king size quilt measuring 110" x 120"
Here's what I have to work with.
    Finished block size: 6"
    Sashing width : 1.5"
Total number of blocks available 222

Question: layout dimensions? If there aren't enough blocks, how wide of a border do I need to add?

Hi John 2148, To make a 110 by 120 inch quilt with on point blocks you would do 10 blocks across and 11 blocks
down. That uses 110 blocks. You have plenty of blocks. You need half blocks to make the sides and top and bottom into
a straight line. And (4) 1/4 blocks for the corners. The borders would be 2 inches on the sides and 1.75 inches on
the top and bottom. With the above measurements and the sashings at 1.5 inches you would have the size you
want. Remember that when the quilt is quilted you might lose several inches due to the stitching pulling it in. If
you do an overall design on it, you might lose 2 or 3 inches in length and width. If the exact size is really important to
you, you could over size your borders to about 6 inches and then after the whole quilt is quilted you cut to size.
If you have more questions post them. Hopes this helps. HelenW
