Geneva, not sure what your particular problem is - that said I have no experience with Berninas at all. If it was on of the industrial machines at work I would know, and that is because they have two sets of tension plates, the usual one that domestic machines have, and a second smaller one, which is actually earlier on in the thread sequence, that affects how much thread is released when the automatic cutter is used - and if the needle is unthreading then the tension is too tight.

Lotti, great pictures as usual, it is lovely to travel along with you.

Welcome to the forum Beabry, hope we don't scare you away with our random chatter

Love the pics, Lotti! I love the trains in Switzerland. Actually, I love Switzerland.
Geneva - are you named after the city in Switzerland? We visited Geneva while there. Went swimming in Lac Leman.

Hey! I went to my doctor today and he told me to take a vacation! How's that for a prescription? I'm going to meet little Alfie at the end of the month and then in February will be visiting friends in Florida! Hope it's warm and sunny, but not too keen on the alligators. Might try to find a quilt shop - anybody know of quilt shops in Florida?

Geneva, great picture of the grandbabies! So huggable! As for the take-up pulling the thread out of the needle after the auto-cut, I was told it could be that your machine needs to have it set so that it cuts the thread a little longer. Like you though, I hold the thread in my left hand while I treadle it with right hand until the take-up is in the down position, placing the needle almost at the fabric.

Hey there, Beabry! Welcome! Looking forward to your sharing!

Marianne, I really like the fabric for your scarf! It's wonderful!

Lotti, great pictures! I envy your traveling, and am always so impressed with the work you get done, by hand. Last time (years ago) I remember you were sewing strips from our "Strippers" exchange. Your hexies are beautiful.

Luann.......yuk! What were you sewing? Fleece? Oh well, it did remind all of us to check our bobbin cases!

I was sewing quality quilting cottons! Lint comes off of everything, I'd hate to think what fuzzy fabrics would leave behind.

Lotti, thank you for sharing your wonderful pictures. I almost feel I am there on the train with you. Had a wonderful time in Switzerland in 2001. We were there on 9/11.

              Thank you Dawn!

Lotti your train looks very luxurious and the views - WOW Only ever travelled through Switzerland; maybe one day we can go there. Love to travel by train so that could be the way to get around.

I can't keep up with all you active ladies! Beautiful train ride. And the babies! So many babies this year in my circle.
Well, I decided to finally make my hubby a quilt. Never have because he was never one to lie under a blanket. Now he has health issues and tends to be cold. So I took this Caterpillar panel and added to it. Am going to back it with flannel.

Finished the quilting on my aunt's little bed runner, and have sent her a picture and a query as to when she wants to come get it. As it's all I've done that is showable (the other was the row robin stuff), here is a final picture of it.

Tomorrow, I start cutting for my son's graduation quilt. Gulp!
