Next wall quilt to be done

Rita, I may do the needle turn after all. Thank you so much for showing me how. Thank you Lois and Terry and all who said I should go to the quilt show. As it turns out my daughter wants to go with me ( amazing, she is 16 years old) and we are going tomorrow morning, God willing. I really worked hard today around the house. I should do this more often. It all started out with cleaning out the sewing stuff. Will let you know how the show is. It's a Mancuso. Thanks guys. Jan

Well, the quilt show was wonderful. I went back with my camera but it went dead just as I tried to take the first photo. So I intend to go back and take pictures.
There was a vender whose website is http://www.critterpat.com, who does these incredible patterns of all kinds of critters. Her work is amazing, embellished with embroidery floss and beads. The one she is working on now is appliqued on felted wool and has all sorts of sheep that are appliqued of wool roving. They look so fluffy and you want to touch them. She won't allow photos unless you buy the pattern, of course. She said she also has free videos of how to do her techniques on her website.
There was a quilt of Christ at the garden of Gethsemane that was stained glass.It was beautiful. The maker placed black fabric over the hand dyed pieces of colored fabric and reverse appliqued the black fabric as the veins. Nearby there was a vendor that sells the stuff to make stained glass quilts, but it uses woven strips that look like braided cord to sew down between the "stained glass" colors. I decided I couldn't cheat that way. It isn't really cloth, of course.
My daughter really enjoyed the quilts there, but when I went with her we didn't stay very long, because her friends were ready to go on a shopping trip as soon as we got home.
I remember the days when my husband would go to an art museum with me when we were dating. Now you couldn't easily get any of my family to do that, but this quilt show was by far better than any art museum.

I don't think I will return to take anymore pictures. I have some from my cell phone. Do you need permission to show photos from a show? I was wondering if anyone would mind. I was going to make a smilebox video. Big ambition but will ask if anyone knows if it's ok to do first.

I am going to try to post a picture of the wall quilt Gethsemane that I saw at the quilt show which uses reverse applique for stained glass.

I started a post on Quilt Shows with pictures from the World Quilt Show in New England. Not bad for my cell phone camera.
