Last week I had two of our grandchildren here one day because schools were closed due to a cyberattack. I told them that they were going to make Christmas presents for their mom and dad. They chose all of the fabric, drew all the shapes, cut the easy shapes, and placed them on their background. I cut some trickier shapes, did the ironing, and showed them how I would sandwich them and quilt. They were both so proud and excited that they made a secret gift. The next day, I cleaned up the big mess and did the quilting. Ryland is 8 and Georgia is 9. The quilts are smaller, 8 x 10.

Just got around to finishing my face have to add a few more things. Loved it !! I made a personal goal of using just one fabric for the face details, everything IS the same fabric except for the nose and lips.

This project did stretch my comfort zone. Not completely happy with the almost end result. I wish the face looked happier. So maybe I should have chosen different eyes and mouth shapes.

I am still going to put pins and some other things on this quilt but the fabric part is done. I had fun and would not have done it with out Alex. The binding was done with two colors, 1 1/2" of blue and 1 3/4" of gold and made to be machine sewn down. Search for flange binding to get instructions.
                    Thank you Alex!

This face quilt was fun to make and I got to practice machine quilting too. Thanks Alex for all the projects you have given us!

This is NOT a self-portrait. This is a FACES quilt for my sister for her birthday. My husband and son agree that is does look like her.
