Alex, maybe I missed it, but do you have tips for dealing with fabric grain when cutting? I am pretty new at piecing/quilting, although I have tried (begun!) more than a few times. Enjoying the basket designs—one of my favorites, but I have not been successful in the past. Thanks for reviewing how to use the extra eighth-inch for squaring! My first attempt was pretty wonky, because I did not trim off the extra. I have room for improvement, as you will see!

Basket Eye Candy from Edyta Sitar's website. Ideas on layouts for baskets.Also like the quilt pattern called Calendar baskets.

Maybe you can use some of these type of color palettes, or applique on
your baskets to give your quilt more interest. Always fun to just try out new ideas. Combining a little of this and a little of that to make something unique.
