Learn How To Piece Curves and Create Transparency with Kerri Green | Scale in Antique Quilts with Lisa Erlandson

(Show 3004) Kerri Green shares tips for creating a curved and pieced quilt design. She also shows how she creates transparency in her designs using subtle or stark value changes in fabric choices which add an additional dimension to her work resulting in a completely new and different design. Scale changes in a design or block can make a big visual impact when it comes to quilts, and Lisa Erlandson helps explain this by comparing antique quilts featuring the same motif in different sizes.

I just finished the show with Lisa Erlandson. The quilt with the dog eared border brought back wonderful memories. In the late 60’s or early 70’s I made a skirt using that same border fabric. The fabric was in my mother’s stash from either one of my grandmothers or a friend of my mom. I always loved that fabric and remember having a tough time deciding what to make with it. Thanks for stirring up a great memory!
