Gosh Where has this month gone! I have just finished the appliqué. I used the technique I learned from the “Garden Party Down Under” BOM. It is similar to the wax paper method, however, Select Print and Piece is used instead of wax paper. This method is more challenging to hand stitch and I used machine stitch on Month 2 small appliqué, so I continued with variegated thread machine stitching. I’m pleased with the results.

I've watched Lynn's month six tutorial and may be delaying starting with questions. Do we stack all of the pieces on before stitching them? Also, is Terial Magic used only on the background fabric? As you can see, I've never done this sort of appliqué--only raw edge, so I think I'll give it a shot.

Terial Magic is mostly used for the background. It is a stabilizer that prevents the fabric from shrinking with the applique.
Most people stitch one shape at a time, especially for needle turn hand applique. Some people like to make the flower units, then applique the completed fabric on to the background. This is often done with machine applique projects.
I just watched Lynn's video again. She prepared each shape with starch and glue around freezer paper templates, pinned them all in place, then hand appliqued all the shapes.
Try both ways to decide which you prefer.

I chose the easier of the 2 alternative choice blocks given for Month 6 to make....they're done.
However, I would really like to try the more difficult 'alternate' block...can you please give me the size of the pieces of fabric that I need to cut for 1 block? Let me know if this isn't clear or make sense. I've given it a 'try' already, but had some difficulty...I'd share it
with you but my work is downstairs & I'm upstairs at the moment. It's gotten alittle cold since I 'tried' 3 weeks ago.....thank you Pat Kilmark

I love applique but for some reason I just wasn’t in love with month 6 so I made the difficult decision to make a replacement block. I first used EQ8 and designed a block that had a large diamond center. I liked it, it looked good and I planned to go with it then I saw a similar block on Pinterest with a smaller diamond in the center so down another rabbit hole I went. Thank goodness for YouTubes because I learned how to make a Half Rectangle Triangle block without needing a special ruler and I also learned how to snowball a rectangle block. This was the final result and what I’ll be replacing the applique with.
