Beth and Jonathan Evans, internationally known batik artists, discuss their craft and recently published book, A Book of Batik, at a virtual event on Zoom, this Sunday, February 16, 2025. Christa Watson has twice been a guest of The Quilt Show, and in her first appearance with us she began sewing together improv scraps of color during one of the segments. After many years the fruits of her labor have paid off as the quilt that was created from those scraps, Colorful Chaos, has been juried into the Modern category at the AQS Paducah quilt show. While attending the quilting festivities a few weeks ago, Ricky got to talk with award-winning quilter Janet Stone about her latest win with her quilt, Butterflies, Bees & AlphabeTrees, which took home the Brother International Corporation Best Wall Stationary Machine Workmanship Award at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2023.
Ricky catches up with Janome America Best of Show Winner Margaret Solomon Gunn at 2023 AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah, KY, where they talk about her quilt, Sweet Madame Blue, and what she used as her inspiration. (Also discover a little secret about what is NOT Margaret's favorite color.)
Ricky Tims, who was a judge at AQS Quiltweek 2022 in Paducah, went out onto the floor to seek the opinion of quilters and find out how they feel about the use of "banned substances" in quilt competitions.
