Learn About Operation Kid Comfort

Learn how your quilting skills can help our US service men and women know how much we care for their families during their absence. Operation Kid Comfort, an award-winning program of the Armed Services YMCA, provides quilts and pillow covers featuring photos of the child and parent together to provide warmth, comfort, and most importantly, a tender reminder of their loved one. These tangible and creative items are lovingly made by Operation Kid Comfort volunteers and provided at no cost.

Join us next week, February 14, 2024, when Alex talks with Ann Flaherty, the organization’s founder, to learn about the program and how it began.

I'm confused. The introduction talks about quilting skills, but I only see how parents can sign up their children for the program.

Hi Sharon,

You as a quilt volunteer can make a quilt or pillow cover for the child of a deployed military member. Parents sign up to have their child receive a quilt/pillow cover made by volunteers. We will share more information on Wed 14 Feb...
