Textile Talks: Facilitating a Community Quilt Project for Adults with Disabilities in Tokyo, Japan, presented by International Quilt Museum

"In February 2023, a group of artists, quiltmakers, paraprofessionals, and clients of a disability social services organization in Tokyo came together to create a community quilt. The clients participated in all stages of creation, from painting and weaving fabric to cutting and sewing the quilt top. Join the InternationaQuilt Museum's Marin Hanson as she talks with artist Ai Kijima and Saitama University professor Nao Nomura about the recently concluded project, its planning and implementation, and the potential for future collaborative projects of its kind."

 

This Textile Talk takes place, Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM Eastern Time. Future installments are held online at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific) each Wednesday.
