The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Thanks, Frank" by Jane Hardy Miller
Do a puzzle of Jane Hardy Miller's quilt, French Braid Sampler.
Thanks, Frank is a French Braid quilt done in the style of Stained Glass quilt. Taking its name from famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright, Thanks, Frank uses a complex color palette to create the rainbow quilt that Jane had always wanted to make. Using the full spectrum of the rainbow as the braid run, the ten to twelve fabrics used for the French Braid, Jane then picked a similar rainbow fabric to use for the inner squares, the border, and the separators, something she had never done before. Then, to produce the Stained Glass look, Jane used solid black fabric to separate out the colors in the braid run.
