Wrapping up the celebration of Kaffe Fassett's 85th birthday this week, we have one more video to share with you. Many of you know Kaffe as a fabric designer and quilt maker, but he's created so much more than that. From knitwear designs to cross stitch, these photos from Lilo Bowman of his 2014 Exhibit at the American Museum in Bath, UK, illustrate many aspects of his colorful career.

In honor of the man of the hour, we dug up this great interview that Alex had with Kaffe at his exhibit for his book, Shots and Stripes, with Liza Prior Lucy, who also joins the interview, at the 2013 Houston International Quilt Festival. The Quilters Hall of Fame Celebration this year celebrates its 30th Anniversary with its newest set of inductees, Diane Gaudynski and Heritage Honoree Florence LaGanke Harris. These two ladies, one a master of machine quilting and the other a pioneer of quilt journalism in the 1920s, will both be inducted next week. Congratulations Diane and Florence!

Pam Holland, a dear friend of The Quilt Show and one of our earliest guests, has won the prestigious Rajah Award in Australia. "This award will acknowledge an outstanding contribution to quilting in Australia, whether it be a contribution as a quilting teacher, designer, author, historian, guild worker, retailer, etc or a combination of work in several of these areas." "During the April 2022 AQS QuiltWeek event in Paducah, KY, AccuQuilt Cutting Expert, Pam Heller, was able to visit the Flood Wall and speak with the lead project artist, Char Downs." Char is responsible for painting the quilt mural on the Flood Wall, with hopes to have the entire wall covered in painted quilt murals.
