The Quilt Show Puzzle: Sisterly Love |

"Sisters: The Shape of Love" by Lyric Kinard
Sisters: The Shape of Love (51" x 51") came about from a huge flood of creativity after the first time Lyric had been with her sisters as grown ups. As the oldest of six siblings, the youngest of Lyric's sisters were six and eight when she moved out so she never really knew them until they were adults. The images of her sisters were inspired by a photograph taken from their time together, and the psalm featured on the quilt is "To My Beloved" by Eunice Tietjens, which Lyric felt perfectly described what she felt after spending time with them.
See more of Lyric's quilts in How to Make a Portrait Quilt with Lyric Kinard | Quilt Studio Tour with Tonye Belinda Phillips.
