Featured Quilt - Second Place Wall Quilts Movable Machine Quilted at AQS Quilt Week Branson 2025

We were lucky to see this quilt in person when it showed up on the set of The Quilt Show. Kyra's quilt, Fire and Ice, won 2nd Place - Wall Quilts Movable Machine Quilted at AQS Quilt Week Branson 2025. And while she is known as "The Dot Lady", you'll want to take a look at all of the different quilting designs Kyra uses throughout the quilt. Congratulations Kyra!

You can watch and learn from Kyra here on TQS in Learn Kaleidoscope Mandalas with Appliqué and Dot Painting with Kyra Reps | Different Ways to Use Appliqué with Sondrasa.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Sisterly Love

"Sisters: The Shape of Love" by Lyric Kinard

Sisters: The Shape of Love (51" x 51") came about from a huge flood of creativity after the first time Lyric had been with her sisters as grown ups. As the oldest of six siblings, the youngest of Lyric's sisters were six and eight when she moved out so she never really knew them until they were adults. The images of her sisters were inspired by a photograph taken from their time together, and the psalm featured on the quilt is "To My Beloved" by Eunice Tietjens, which Lyric felt perfectly described what she felt after spending time with them.

See more of Lyric's quilts in How to Make a Portrait Quilt with Lyric Kinard | Quilt Studio Tour with Tonye Belinda Phillips.
