Stars for a New Day by Sue Garman

Over the next weeks, we will show you all of the Block of the Month Quilts we have featured. TheQuiltShow.com's second Block of the Month (BOM 2009) has been one of the most popular. "Stars for a New Day" quilts have won over 300 awards at local and national quilt shows. Take a look at the different colors and modifications. Wonderful!

Stars for a New Day starts with a feathered star block set on point and adds a multitude of borders. This is a very popular block-of-the-month; the pattern instructions are very detailed and offer lots of options for simplifying steps. The finished quilt measures 85 inches square.

One of my friends won a cup for her rendition of this quilt at our local Eisteddfod in Jersey, Channel Islands. She was in her late 80' and a brilliant quilter. I havn't finished my rendition of this quilt using all cream and reds. I am still...
