Who is Valerie C White?
I can not remember a time when I did not have a needle in my hand. I have always loved the feel of fabric; I enjoy the tactile experience afforded by working with all kinds of textures.
I began as a traditional quilter but soon felt this approach limited me from creating more expressive works. I have submerged myself into Art quilts.
I am drawn to and inspired by African symbols and masks and have developed a stylized approach to include them in my work.
