Who is Lauren Vlcek?
Lauren Vlcek has displayed her unique and whimsical pieces in art shows, doll challenges, magazines, book covers and on television. She is a co-author of the book, Fabric Embellishing, Basics and Beyond. Lauren appears in an episode of The Quilt Show with quilting icons Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims which airs March 11th, 2013 on www.thequiltshow.com. She shares some art quilting techniques that she contributed to her first book. Lauren also taught a 6 week embellishments class in the TQS classroom and is scheduled to teach another classroom on drawing faces on fabric in the Summer of 2013.
Lauren has taught art classes in her home studio, at conferences and for guilds and shops specializing in embellishment and figurative art. Her art work is a pathway of expression for her life's experiences, challenges and changes and is, indeed extraordinary.
Lauren lives in Colorado with her husband, two sons, and Boston Terrier, Charlie.
