Who is Janet Finley?

I began quilting in 1964 when I had a lot of fabric remnants from garment making and thought this would be a frugal and wonderful way to use them. Little did I know the adventures this would lead and the world that would open for me. I live in Colorado and participate in numerous local guilds. After years of making quilts, many of them award winning and in publications, I joined the American Quilt Study Group as quilt history became a major focus for me. From 2000-2004, when I was the Executive Director of the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum in Golden, Colorado, an intern showed me how to purchase vintage photographs on the internet. A fascination with the women who made the quilts, combined with a life-long love of photography, drew me into each and every one of these historic images. Today, my collection of vintage photographs numbers over 1,000. In 2012, my photographs were exhibited at the International Quilt Study Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. My photographs have been featured in THE QUILT LIFE and THE AMERICAN QUILTER magazines. Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson recently interviewed me for their on-line series of THE QUILT LIFE.
