Outline Quilting
Outline Quilting, is a single row of quilting stitches that outline a pieced or appliqued shape, or another quilted design. Outline quilting can be done by hand or machine. This row of stitching around a shape will emphasize the shape. On piecework, the shape can be outlined inside or outside the shape. Outlining a quilted shape such as a feather will push down the batting around the shape and emphasize the shape.
