Geri, who was a recent guest on The Quilt Show, just learned that her quilt, Rainy Day Ballet, has been accepted to be in the de Young Fine Arts Museum’s Open 2023 in San Francisco, CA! Geri says, "I’m so honored and excited to be juried into this prestigious event that celebrates and supports the Bay Area Artists Community." Meet Carol Spencer, a "fine arts scholar who answered a newspaper job advertisement in 1963 to become Barbie’s fashion designer — a position she held for 36 years until 1999, making her the figure’s longest serving stylist."

Come visit the National Quilt Museum and explore quilts inspired by nature as part of their exhibit, Flora, Fauna and Paisaje / Landscape a collaborative show between quilters from Chile Quilting and TASO (Textile Artists of Southeastern Ohio). You'll see quilts just like Pilar Donoso's Calas de Valdivia/ Calla Lilies from Valdivia, which showcases nature on an international scale.
From the American Folk Art Museum, "Featuring 35 quilts and related works of art, What That Quilt Knows About Me will explore the deeply personal and emotional power associated with the experience of making and living with quilts. The exhibition’s title conveys the idea that quilts have the capacity for “knowing” or containing information about the human experience. Reflecting on this sentiment, the exhibition presents quilts as collections of intimate stories."

Patricia Belyea of Okan Arts is going to be a guest next year on The Quilt Show. Her experience in quilting has dealt mainly with the Japanese side of things and has herself visited the Tokyo Quilt Show. With there no longer being a Tokyo Quilt Show, the Yokohama Quilt Show has sprung up and taken its place and one of the members of Patricia's Okan Arts team, Victoria Stone, took the trip to Yokohama, Japan to check it out.
The Quilt National '21 Exhibition is now on display at the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles in San Jose, California. Learn more about this exhibition, which features quilts made within the last two years by artists "who take technology and techniques for fiber art above and beyond the ordinary."
