I’m from the UK. I just love it when you feature vintage fabrics, used in art quilts or clothing, so much inspiration in this particular show. I learned chicken scratch a few years ago, it’s a technique that is little used, so simple when you know how. I just wish I was as talented as your two guests today. Please focus on reusing fabrics again and again. After all that is what patchwork was originally all about. There are some lovely new fabrics that tempt us, I am as guilty as lots of others who buy from time to time, but vintage is extra special. This show is a way to lead us into saving the planet by reusing, not into processing too many new fabrics just for commercialism. Thanks Alex and Ricky, I have been a follower now for a few years, best wishes from the UK.

Chicken Scratch is not new. Ir originated in the late 1800's. I learned to do it in the early 1960's and did a lot in the 70's and 80's. It is a fun project.

What a wonderful show. Marty was fantastic, her ideas for use of vintage items and what you can do with them is fabulous. I will have go digging through all the vintage laces, doilies and other items I have.

My denim coat project just got more items to put on it. Blair with her chicken scratch was stunning, haven’t seen that in years.

What an interesting show. I loved Marty’s work and it makes one look differently at vintage items.
