Self-Representing Quilts and Four Layer Quilting - Renée Fleuranges-Valdes | Freezer Paper Piecing - Clara Cartwright

(Show 3712) Step into the world of two creative and inspiring quilting artists. Renée Fleuranges-Valdes discovered quilting in 1999 as a way to escape the stresses of her demanding software career, and what began as a hobby evolved into a powerful form of self-expression. Learn how to design a warrior woman that embodies strength, courage, and resilience, with every detail telling part of her story. Discover Renée's 4-layer technique for adding deep and sculptural texture and movement to your free motion quilting. Lastly see how Clara Cartwright uses freezer paper as a reusable paper piecing pattern to achieve beautifully crisp and precise results.

What a lovely show and so great to see Judy Mathieson’s freezer paper foundation piecing technique (Mariner’s Compass Quilts, 2005, C&T Publishing) being carried on, popularized and made modern. It is a wonderful technique and not well enough...

I truly enjoyed Renee's presentation on her Warrior Women Quilts and her discussion about the differences when you layer 3 or 4 layering, 3 or 4 battings and threads . . .
