Who is Sharyn Cole?
Tuffet making started as a hobby in 2007 but soon turned into a passion and then a business. I like to say I am “growing the Tuffet Nation one workshop at a time.” I teach tuffet making classes in many quilt shops in central North Carolina. What pleases me most about leading a tuffet workshop is witnessing the sheer joy, pride, and sense of accomplishment expressed by students when they complete their first, or second, tuffet treasure. It is delightful!
I have developed many innovations and improvements over the years in the craft of tuffet-making and the products on this web site are the beneficiary of that experience. I have to confess that I may come up with the ideas but my husband, Allen, is the one who takes my ideas to reality.
In addition to tuffet-making, I teach pieced quilting, applique and fabric embellishment classes at quilt shops in central North Carolina. My applique quilts won ribbons at local guild and regional quilt shows as well as national shows. Quilting is another of my passions and applique, in all its forms, is my favorite technique.
My husband Allen, Milo and Timone (the boys, i.e., cats) and I live in Cary, NC and our two adult children and their families live nearby. We have four delightfully, wonderful grandchildren who are growing up before our very eyes. We are blessed!
