From The National Quilt Museum:
"We have liftoff! - Astronaut Karen Nyberg's exhibition, "The Stars Are Aligned," is now open and runs through July 30. Offering one of the most fascinating perspectives we–and any museum–have ever featured (that of a space explorer), Karen's work celebrates her time as an astronaut, living in space, her family, and her interest in Earth conservation.
The exhibition also features a set of Astronomical Quilts that were commissioned in 2013 by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration to honor Karen's mission on the International Space Station. The quilts are made from blocks sent in from all over the world. Of the five quilts on display, one includes a square Karen made in space, two have NEVER before been publicly displayed and one features blocks from Paducah quilters.
