Quilters Take a Moment (QTM), the annual fundraiser for the Quilt Alliance will be here before you know it. Taking place on on Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21, 2024, there will be six different workshops that you can take part in across the weekend. TQS will be highlighting these to give you a better idea of what to expect. The first is Telling the Story of Your Quilt Through Photography with Kitty Wilkin.
This week we return to the Go Tell It at the Quilt Show series from the Quilt Alliance and are introduced to Kathy York's quilt, i Quilt, which took home Best in Show at QuiltCon 2015. It is a two-sided quilt, and both sides have a story of why they were constructed the way they were.
Presented by the Quilt Alliance: "Many makers today do an excellent job of labeling, photographing and writing down the important details of the quilts they make. But often quilts made or received as gifts or purchased are not labeled because less is known about them. Emma Parker and Amy Milne of the Quilt Alliance will introduce you to three quilts with no label at risk of becoming Anonymous. We’ll demonstrate the steps of quilt documentation, from documenting your own process, to an inherited quilt with a rich history, to a mystery quilt."
