Things to Do Over International Quilting Weekend 2025

National Quilting Day is this Saturday, March 15, 2025, but here at The Quilt Show, we like to celebrate all weekend long.

Here are some things you can do to celebrate as well.

Display a Quilt - Alex and Ricky suggest you hang a quilt outside your home and fly your "quilt flag" for the world to see. Take a photo of your hanging quilt and post it on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #TQSQuiltsOutside. (If it's raining, just take a photo inside your home.)

Watch Ricky LIVE on Saturday, 3/15/2025 - Join Ricky and meet John Cole-Morgan. John is bringing awareness to the amazing work being done in South Africa by quilters and embroiders. You’ll learn heartwarming human-interest stories and find inspiration from the hundreds of quilts that were recently on display in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Gateway Quilters' Guild that is in the City of Merced, CA receives a Proclamation from our City Council every March to honor the Community Service they provide. The Merced City Council proclaims that the third Saturday of March is National Quilt Day in our city. This was our third year to receive this honor. We also loan out our quilts to hang in the City Hall throughout the year. They are changed out 3 times a year. Next week we will be delivering quilts for hanging. Should you ever travel trough Merced during the week, stop to see the City Hall (18th and N Street)
