The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Un ra ve li n g" by Marty Ornish
Do a puzzle of Marty Ornish's quilt, Un ra ve li n g.
The original quilt that this quilt was created from was given to Marty by a steampunk friend of hers. He was finishing up an estate sale for his parents and told her if she didn't come and get it he would throw it away. Initially, Marty didn't like that it was a 1960s polyester quilt, but took it out back anyway and froze it to make sure there were no critters living in there. Afterward, she decided to disassemble the quilt for the heck of it and fell in love with the inside of it. So Marty went and then stitched down what was used as the original batting for the quilt using gold thread to make this new work a thing of beauty. She handstitched all of the batting back down for three months, and Un ra ve li n g the quilt was born.
