The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Fleur de Glace" by Colette Dumont
Do a puzzle of Colette Dumont's quilt, Fleur de Glace.
Fleur de Glace features over 31,000 beads, plus Swarovski crystals, and was made using Colette's Stained Glass technique featuring a lamé bias. In certain sections of the quilt, Colette intentionally cut areas out to feature the beads and crystals exclusively. The name of the quilt translates to "ice flower", which is appropriate because Colette says it was "inspired by the flower of ice in winter." It has won two Best of Show Awards, one at AQS Daytona Beach 2018 and the other at the 2017 Canadian Quilter Association.
