The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Escapade" by Libby Lehman
Do a puzzle of Libby Lehman's quilt, Escapade.
Escapade is a quilt by TQS favorite, and 2009 TQS Legend, Libby Lehman. It incorporates Libby's technique of Sheer Ribbon Illusion which creates an appearance of translucence on the surface of the quilt. She says, "The inspiration for this quilt began in a series of ribbon quilts. The design was sketched on graph paper and then enlarged. The ribbons were drawn freehand and transferred to the top. I am a studio art quiltmaker by profession, and I work on one quilt at a time, from start to finish; consequently, this quilt took about three weeks to complete." Escapade is now in the collection of the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY.
