Things to Do Over International Quilting Weekend 2024
National Quilting Day is this Saturday, March 16, 2024, but here at The Quilt Show, we like to celebrate all weekend long.
Here are some things you can do to celebrate as well.
Display a Quilt - Just like last year, Alex suggests you hang a quilt outside your home and fly your "quilt flag" for the world to see. Take a photo of your hanging quilt and post it on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #TQSQuiltsOutside. (If it's raining, just take a photo inside your home.)
Watch Alex Interview Brent McGee. Whether he is hand quilting a coral reef, a blue whale, or a zebra eel, Brent McGee brings true artistry and a lot of charm to his work.
Visit a Quilt Museum or Quilting Website in Person or Online - There are plenty of them and many can be visited virtually.
International Quilt Museum - University of Nebraska-Lincoln
San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles
National Quilt Museum - Paducah
Make a Quilt for a Cause - Perhaps your local shelter needs quilts, check out pre-natal care units, Project Linus, or ABC Quilts.
Document Your Quilt - Click here for three easy ways to do that from the Quilt Alliance.

Share Your Skills - Take that little one by the hand and show them how to thread a needle, take a stitch, or just play with arranging fabric. Watch Show 2809 - Learn How to Teach Your Kids to Quilt and Mixed Media Project with Dee Christopher for tips.
Check out a new Sewing Machine - BERNINA is having a huge sale through the end of March.
And last, but not least, spend the weekend watching shows here at The Quilt Show. Click here for a complete list of shows.
