The European Quilt Association Picture Exchange Exhibit
"The European Quilt Association represents 19 countries and over 60,000 members from national guilds. Last autumn, 2020, the EQA launched an international exchange challenge to encourage and promote quilting across borders, cultures and language barriers."
From the European Quilt Association:
"Each interested quilter selected a photograph as inspiration which was then divided into a right and left half. The quilters will make 2 small quilts 20 x 40 cm (approx. 8” x 16”), the right half of their own picture and the left half of a randomly assigned partner. [Note: This version of a Picture Exchange was conceived and exhibited by The Lippentaler Quilters from Germany and Gone-To-Pieces from England and appeared at the Patchworktagen 2019 in Dinkelsbühl Germany.]
We are 362 participating quilters, from 18 countries, speaking 12 languages and constructing 724 little quilted secrets. There is an active, private FaceBook page with 278 members, able to communicate using the FB embedded translation function.
The participants are stitching until the end of June. There will be a Big Reveal of all the works paired back together on the EQA European Quilt Association FaceBook page."
