Textile Talks: Layered & Stitched - In Conversation with Alice Beasley, Susan Else and the Pixeladies

The San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles recently featured a Textile Talk with California artists, including Alice Beasley, Susan Else, and the Pixeladies, featured in the Layered & Stitched!: 50 Years of Innovative Art. Watch the informative discussion between the quilters, and then get a glimpse of some of their work featured in the exhibit.

 

From The San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles:

 

"Join San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles for a conversation with California artists featured in Layered & Stitched! Layered & Stitched: 50 Years of Innovative Art showcases 50 art quilts by renowned master artists from across the globe. In this Textile Talk, we'll hear from California Bay Area artists Alice Beasley, Susan Else and the Pixeladies. Join us for an hour-long presentation and discussion about their work, process and inspiration, with a special focus on the works featured in this landmark exhibition. Layered & Stitched is on view at SJMQT through January 2, 2022."

 

This Textile Talk took place, Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM Eastern Time. Future installments are held online at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific) each Wednesday.

 

The exhibit images follow the video, along with some quilts also featured at the museum over the years by the likes of Jane SassamanYvonne Porcella, and Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry.
