A Quiltcon Quickie - Southern Exposure by Einar & Jamex de la Torre

Not all of the artwork at Quiltcon 2022 in the Phoenix Convention Center was of a textile nature.

These amazing columns containing blown glass objects stand along either side of the Washington entrance. They were "entrancing" to behold.

Southern Exposure by Einar & Jamex de la Torre at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

From the Convention Center, "Inspired by the columnar figures at Tula, Mexico, the figures are approximately 15 feet high and are constructed of a set of stacked glass boxes fitted into figure forms. The boxes contain blown glass objects, found objects and cultural artifacts reflecting the contemporary culture and the history of Arizona and the larger Southwest. They sit on either side of the Washington entrance."
