Paper Piecing, Walking Foot Quilt Top Design - Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill | Free-Motion Quilting Without Marking - Ricky Tims

(Show 3403) After years of using quilt books as sources of inspiration, graphic designer Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill changed course and began making bold and graphic quilts. Before long, pattern requests began trickling in. Known for creating complicated contemporary designs, Sheri says they are broken down into easy to follow steps.

Also in this show, Ricky Tims shows how doodling designs on paper can translate to free-motion quilting without the need of marking beforehand. Then, working on a quilt sandwich he shares the ins and outs of the tear drop, flame, spiral and feather and reveals the trick for what to do when you’ve worked yourself into a corner.

This comment is intended for Alex and Ricky. I loved this show but I am wondering why no one ever does a show featuring really intricate foundation paper piecing. I have always wanted to see someone who shows teeny tiny piecing tips. Some patterns get so intricate and it's a bit overwhelming. Please do a show with someone that does this!

Hi, have you had a chance to watch Amy Pabst's show? She does paper piecing of miniature log cabins. Hopefully some of what she does would apply to teeny, tiny piecing.
