How to Do Layered Cloth Construction for Collage Quilts and Stitching with No Rules with Deborah Fell

(Show 3507) Deborah Fell is steeped in the art of quilt making and views her works to be the bridge; a way to get from one point to another, and a way to come to terms with both challenging and social issues. A professional educator for 30 years to at-risk high school students, she has also taught at art workshops and symposiums. Deborah shares how to break the rules by creating original designs using a variety of fabrics, how a stitch line can be used as a design element, and how to stabilize and incorporate unconventional materials for use in art quilts.

Thank you for sharing Deborah's art and process. I was so moved by her story and her philosophy. For years I've made what I call "blanks" - scraps pinned and then hand-stitched onto scrap batting. I always thought of it as busy work, but now Deborah has inspired me to take it further. Thanks!
