Feather Zone is a collaboration between Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero and Teri Lucas.  Jeanie says, "It was a bit of a challenge to put together the first time around -- so much so that I scrapped that attempt and started over." We think the second time around is quite stunning.  To learn more about the making of the quilt and to see close-ups, click here and here.

You can watch Jeanie in Episode 1504: Make it Special with Machine Embroidery debuting Monday, August 18, 2014.

Enjoy this lovely quilt by Jerry Granata, Faith Alone. Created in response to a "doors" challenge, it measures 50" x 60" and features hand painted fabrics, batiks, clear vinyl, and theatrical gels. It is machine quilted and hand-embroidered.

Star Members can learn how Jerry tackles these extraordinary textiles in Episode 1503: Quilting without Limits: Using Unconventional Fabrics in Your Work.  Episode 1503 debuts on August 4, 2014.

Jerry says, " ...this was born out of a challenge in an art group I was in. The challenge was "doors" and this was my response. My inspiration was a photo from a friend who took a picture of an abandoned church in Canada."
