What's Going On In Month 5 of the BOM?
In month 5 of Pick a Petal, the 2024 TQS Block Of the Month designed by Jen Kingwell, you will be embarking on the 1st of 4 appliqué borders. Jen had so much fun building these borders. She worked on one flower design at a time, then when she was happy with the composition of the appliqué, she began adding embroidery embellishments (more on that in Month 7).

"Galactic Quilt" by Tara Faughnan
When creating her Color Collective BOM, Tara had to choose twelve colors for her design. When it came time to implement those colors in her quilt she chose an hourglass block, but the color palette fell apart. So she decided to create a new log cabin type block that allowed the proportions of the colors to be better represented. Using this design, Tara truly made her Galactic Quilt look out of this world!
