The quilt behind Alex and Marty Ornish really grabbed my attention. I am a retired registered nurse. As we all know, medical science continues to reveal new information. The white fibers in the quilt, which I am thinking are part of the original batting for a quilt, look like fascia, the white connective tissue between our skin and muscle and bone. The long smooth fibers are healthy, and the tangled areas are adhesions that pull and cause pain, disfunction (and what we call cellulite). Because fascia does not show up on x-ray, or CT scans, it was ignored for a very long time. We now know it is critically important. I look forward to see what Marty discects from old linens and quilts and how she puts them back together in wonderful new creations.
